Groton — Navy commands in southeastern Connecticut will host the fifth annual "Meet Your Navy" event at the Historic Ship Nautilus and Submarine Force Museum on Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a U.S. Navy 243rd birthday celebration at noon.

The various Navy commands will highlight their unique jobs with engaging demonstrations and informational tables. Various exhibits will include Navy diver equipment, Subase Fire Department, Navy communications and cryptologic equipment, a knot-tying station and drill team presentations. Opportunities to interact and speak with sailors from a variety of job fields also will be provided. 

The event is free and open to the public.
