S&P Oyster House to donate portion of sales to state Department of Veterans Affairs

Mystic — S&P Oyster Restaurant on Holmes Street has announced it will donate 15 percent of the revenue from its sales on Nov. 11 and 12 to the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs.

The Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs provides programs for veterans including educational training, health, medical and rehabilitation services, housing facilities and employment assistance.

"Supporting veterans and active duty military is something very personal to us at S&P Oyster Restaurant," said restaurant co-owner Cathleen Holland, in announcing the effort. "Many of our staff have friends who have served, and some of us have family currently serving in Afghanistan. I think the best way to thank our servicemen and women is to support the groups that take care of them, which is why I'm so happy we are able to contribute to such a fantastic organization."
