No. 1 UConn women visit Oklahoma after 11-day exam break

Top-ranked UConn returns from an extended 11-day final exam break with an extended road trip.

The Huskies, who last played on Dec. 8, a 99-61 home victory over Seton Hall, begin a four-game road trip on Wednesday night at Oklahoma (8:30 p.m., FS1).

UConn (9-0) will continue west Saturday to face California in Berkeley at 3 p.m., then disperse for the holidays for 12 days before resuming play with two more road games in Texas — Jan. 3 at No. 6 Baylor and Jan. 6 at Houston in its American Athletic Conference opener.

The Huskies will then return home to play Cincinnati in an AAC game on Jan. 9 at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs.

UConn, which brings a 124-game regular season winning streak into Norman to face the struggling Sooners (3-6), continues to be led by senior All-American Katie Lou Samuelson. She scored 26 points in her last game against Seton Hall and also had a career-high 16 rebounds.

She also moved past program great Diana Taurasi and into second place on UConn's career record for 3-pointers (320), 78 shy of all-time leader Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis (398).

Samuelson leads the Huskies in scoring (20.1 ppg.) while also averaging 7.1 points and 4.2 rebounds. Fellow senior Napheesa Collier is next with 18.4 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists while junior point guard Crystal Dangerfield averages 14.6 points and 5.7 assists and freshman guard Cristyn Williams is averaging 13.9 points.

Sophomore forward Megan Williams (11.6 points, 5.9 rebounds), who missed the last two games while recovering from strep throat, is expected to return to the lineup against the Sooners, who have been led by Taylor Robertson (18.4 ppg.) and Madi Williams (10 rebounds).
