No. 3 UConn women host SMU at Gampel on Wednesday

Storrs — UConn's dominance in the American Athletic Conference should continue on Wednesday when the third-ranked Huskies host SMU at Gampel Pavilion (7 p.m., SNY).

UConn (16-1, 5-0) has won five straight conference games since losing at No. 2 Baylor on Jan. 3.

SMU (7-11, 1-4) has lost six of its last seven games.

The Huskies are coming off an 88-67 wn over Temple on Saturday when junior point guard Crystal Dangerfield scored a career-high 26 points and senior Napheesa Collier had her 10th double-double of the season with 30 points and 12 rebounds.

Collier is also getting closer to a couple of milestones. She need 19 rebounds to reach 1,000 for her career and is 82 points shy from scoring her 2,000 career point.

Alicia Froling is averaging 12.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per-game for the Mustangs, who have never beaten by the Huskies in nine meetings. UConn is 106-0 all-time, including the postseason, in five-plus AAC seasons.
