    Top 25 men's and women's basketball roundup

Even on a night where she had 29 points in a rivalry game against Oregon State, Sabrina Ionescu picked apart her performance.

Ever the perfectionist, Ionescu added nine assists and five rebounds for Oregon in a victory over the Beavers for the Ducks' 17th straight win.

"I'm still kind of bummed I didn't shoot the ball very well," the Pac-12's reigning Player of the Year said after a 12-for-24 night from the field. "I left a lot of points on the board and I think I should have been able to hit some of those shots."

Ruthy Hebard added 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Ducks (24-1, 13-0 Pac-12), who have the longest active winning streak in the nation. Oregon improved to 6-0 against ranked teams this season.

"Overall, regardless of how many points I scored, I think everyone contributed and won us that game," Ionescu added.

Destiny Slocum had 19 points for Oregon State, which trailed 39-35 at the half. The Beavers (20-5, 10-3) pulled to 64-60 on Slocum's jumper with 5:20 left but it was as close as they could get.

The in-state Civil War rivalry continues on Monday when the two teams meet in Corvallis.

"Oregon is such a good team, we've got to be better," Oregon State coach Scott Rueck said. "They made us pay for every mistake. They had so many offensive rebounds, it seemed like every fricking one turned into something positive for them, every single one. That's an area we've got to get better at."

The Ducks were coming off a decisive 88-48 win at then-No. 11 Stanford. The win snapped a 29-game losing streak for the Ducks at Maples Pavilion, and also snapped the Cardinal's 22-game home winning streak.

The Beavers were coming off an 82-74 victory over Cal, but fell to Stanford 61-44 on the Northern California swing to drop two places in this week's rankings.

"We didn't do anything differently, we didn't prepare differently, we scouted them just like any other team," Ionescu said about the Beavers. "But it's definitely is a little bit sweeter to be able to get that win against a team that's right down the road from us, and then be able to go down there Monday and hopefully have the same result."

Hebard hit consecutive layups to pull the Ducks up 18-13 in the opening quarter. She added a rebound basket that extended the lead to 25-18.

But Oregon State answered with a 12-2 run to pull in front 30-27. Ionescu hit a pair of free throws and a 3-pointer to regain the lead for the Ducks.

Oregon, which went into the game averaging a national-best 90.2 points a game, led 39-35 at the half, with Ionescu leading all scorers with 13 points, as well as seven assists. Aleah Goodman led the Beavers with 10 points at the break.

Ionescu's 3-pointer gave Oregon a 49-40 lead in the third quarter. The Pac-12's Player of the Week hit another 3 to put the Ducks up 56-46 going into the fourth quarter. The Ducks led by as many as 11 points in the final period.

The game was a sellout, just the second for the women at Matthew Knight Arena. The Ducks sold out the team's first game at the arena, also against the Beavers, on Jan. 23, 2011.

"Yeah, that was probably even a better crowd than some of the tournament games," Slocum said. "It's fun, the rivalry's amazing, and I think we did a good job and we'll probably do a better job on Monday."

The Ducks, Baylor, Louisville, and Mississippi State were the No. 1 seeds in the first NCAA Top 16 reveal on Monday. If the seedings hold, Oregon would stay near home as the top team in Portland. Oregon State was a No. 3 seed. The NCAA will have one more reveal of the top 16 teams on March 4 before Selection Monday, which is on March 18.

After the game, Oregon coach Kelly Graves grabbed the arena microphone and thanked the fans for coming out. Asked why after the game, Graves said: "I want them to come back!"

"This doesn't happen all the time. In women's basketball unfortunately there are pockets that just don't draw regardless of how good the teams are. Just because you have a good team doesn't mean you're going to have fans. And I think these fans have really bought into our program and our players, they love these guys. And I just wanted to thank them for that," Graves said.

    St. John's 81, No. 8 Marquette 74

Tiana England scored 20 points and St. John's rallied from a double-digit for the Red Storm's first victory over a top-10 team in nearly seven years.

The Red Storm (13-12, 6-8 Big East) were down 14 in the second quarter and eight at the half before pulling off the shocking win that ended a 12-game winning streak for the Golden Eagles (21-4, 12-1).

The score was tied at 56 heading into the fourth quarter and St. John's was down 67-66 midway through the quarter when Jasmine Sina's 3-pointer from the corner in front of the Red Storm bench started a 9-1 run. The Red Storm pushed the lead to 75-68 on England's layup with 2:17 left. Marquette could get no closer than five the rest of the way.

Erika Davenport had 24 points and 13 rebounds to lead Marquette.

    No. 10 Stanford 65, UCLA 51

Alanna Smith scored 22 points, and Stanford rebounded from its worst loss under coach Tara VanDerveer with win over UCLA.

The Cardinal came into the game with three losses in their last five games — including a 40-point defeat to No. 3 Oregon last Sunday — but were able to bounce back with a win on the road. They nearly squandered a 16-point halftime lead before putting the game away in the fourth quarter.

UCLA got to 44-42 on a Michaela Onyenwere layup when Stanford scored 10 straight to put it out of reach. Kiana Williams, who scored 15 points, scored the first five points during the run.

DiJonai Carrington added 13 points for Stanford (20-4, 9-4 Pac-12).

Onyenwere led the Bruins (15-10, 9-4) with 21 points and Kennedy Burke added 12.

    No. 19 Arizona State 66, Colorado 49

Kianna Ibis scored 18 points with nine rebounds and Arizona State got its fourth straight win.

Courtney Ekmark added 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting for the Sun Devils (17-6, 8-4 Pac-12), who swept the season series from the Buffaloes, winning 76-70 at Colorado (11-13, 1-12) on Jan. 6.

Reili Richardson's 3-pointer with 4:53 left in the third quarter put the Sun Devils up by 12 and the lead remained in double figures, reaching 19 late in the period before the Buffaloes cut it to 15 entering the fourth. An 11-0 run gave ASU its largest lead of 22 with 2:28 remaining.

Alexis Robinson scored 13 points for Colorado, which was coming off its lone conference victory over USC after losing its previous 11 games.

    Men

    No. 25 Buffalo 88, Toledo 82

Nick Perkins matched his career high with 26 points — hitting four 3-pointers in the second half — to help Buffalo beat Toledo.

The Bulls (22-3, 10-2 Mid-American Conference) fell behind 10-0 and 17-4 in the first half, but Toledo (20-5, 8-4) never came all that close to delivering a knockout blow. Buffalo star CJ Massinburg picked up three fouls in the first half and finished with only 14 points, but the Bulls calmly worked their way back after their poor start.

This was perhaps the most anticipated game of the MAC regular season — a rematch of last year's conference tournament final. Buffalo won that game and also beat Toledo by 30 last month, but the Rockets figured to put up a better fight on their home court.

They did, but only to a point. Toledo led 39-36 at halftime, and the Bulls didn't go ahead until Davonta Jordan's 3-pointer put them up 59-56 around the midway point of the second half. Soon after that, Perkins made a trio of 3-pointers in quick succession, giving Buffalo a 70-62 lead. The Bulls held on from there.

Jaelan Sanford led Toledo with 24 points.
