Passero kicks off re-election campaign with Tony D's fundraiser

New London — Mayor Michael Passero kicked off his mayoral campaign on Monday with a fundraiser at Tony D’s restaurant and a visit from local and state Democratic officials.

Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz announced an endorsement for Passero from herself and Gov. Ned Lamont, “because we are so proud of the work you’ve been doing and so grateful for the support that you and the New London Democrats gave to us when we were running."

Bysiewicz was joined by State Democratic Party Chairwoman Nancy Wyman and Attorney General William Tong.

“I think New London is just starting to break out and after spending my life rolling that boulder up the proverbial hill I feel like we’re going to make it. Just give me another four years. Give my team another four years,” Passero said.

A challenger for Passero has yet to emerge.
