    The Women's Business Development Council upcoming workshops:

    "Elevate Your Pitch," Tuesday, May 7, Groton Public Library. Judith Clinton of Renaissance Toastmasters of Westerly is presenting.

    A "Small Business Workshop in Spanish," April 24, 10 a.m.-noon, Otis Library in Norwich. Moraima Gutierrez of SBA is presenting.

    SCORE will host a series of workshops on starting a business. They will held at Acton Public Library, 60 Old Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook. Sponsored by Northstar Wealth Partners, Old Saybrook office. Presenters are Anne Driscoll, Eric Munro and Arlene Saffron. The dates are Thursday, Apri 25 and May 2.     The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT's Business After Hours will take place Tuesday, April 23, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Stony Creek Brewery at Foxwoods Resort Casino. Admission is $15 for Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT members, $25 for non-members, for reservations made before or on April 21. After April 21, prices increase by $5.     The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT's Community Concierge program will host "Let's Go Local: Night Out in New London" on Saturday, April 27, 6-9 p.m. with a four-course dinner at RD86, followed by a performance of "Titans" from the Eastern CT Symphony Orchestra at the Garde Arts Center.     Always Home will honor Carissa Decelles, Ron Wertz and Mary Brodeur of Miranda Creative at its annual gala May 10 for their part in Preventing Family Homelessness. The three are the creative minds behind Always Home’s re-branding and social media campaign, #GIVE ME A SIGN.     The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT Foundation announced that it raised over $8,500 to benefit local children and families at its Bowl-a-Thon, held Tuesday, April 9 at High Rollers Luxury Lanes at Foxwoods Resort Casino. Teams included representatives from Foxwoods Resort Casino (Perfect Game Sponsor), Ear, Nose & Throat Associates of SECT (Strike Sponsor), L+M Hospital/Yale New Haven Health (Strike Sponsor), Bouvier Insurance, Charter Oak Federal Credit Union, Chelsea Groton Bank, Dime Bank, People’s United Bank, ServiceMaster Restoration by Wills, and UCFS Healthcare. Bouvier Insurance’s team raised the most funds, earning a year of free bowling at High Rollers. Proceeds from the evening support the Chamber Foundation’s scholarship program for high schoolers, as well as grants to regional non-profits.
