Ex-NFA star Tuzar Skipper added the Pittsburgh Steelers' roster
Tuzar Skipper, a 2014 Norwich Free Academy graduate, has signed a free agent contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Steelers announced the addition of five players to their 90-player roster, including Skipper, following a three-day rookie free agent mini-camp over the weekend.
The 6-foot-3, 246-pound Skipper, now an outside linebacker, began his career at Monroe Junior College in New Rochelle, N.Y. before transferring to Toledo, where he was a third-team All-MAC selection as a senior. He tied for third on the team in tackles (60) while leading the Rockets in sacks (8.5) and finishing second in tackles for a loss (11.5).
Skipper had a tryout with the Kansas City Chiefs a week earlier but was selected to join the team following three three-day free agent rookie camp.
Skipper, a two-way lineman for the Wildcats, was a two-time selection to The Day's All-Area football team and was named to the Class LL all-state team as a senior. NFA, under former head coach Jemal Johnson, went 20-4 during Skipper's junior and senior seasons and qualified for the Class LL state playoffs each year.
