The most prolific composer of all time is probably Axl Rose. In the 10 years it took for Rose (and various members of his version of Guns N' Roses) to make the "Chinese Democracy" album, he cranked out over 13 tunes!

What's a LOT more prolific? All of you who participate in Friday's Second Annual Make Music Day, which takes place across the state in the spirit of togetherness and creation. Our region is stockpiled will all sorts of artists and venues formally taking part — from the clubs and venues you'd expect to stores, farms, street corners, houses and virtually anywhere folks can lift their voices in song. There are corporate, civic, private and I'm-the-guy-next-door sponsors.

Then there's YOU. Take part or attend — but make Friday all about Song.

Wendy Bury of the Cultural Coalition of Southeastern Connecticut, one of the coordinators of Make Music Day in our area, says there are over 115 live, free music performances by almost 90 artists in about 35 venues across the region.
