Second Annual Military Appreciation Day to be held at Ocean Beach on Aug. 17

New London — The City of New London and Ocean Beach Park are hosting the Second Annual Military Appreciation Day on Aug. 17 at the park, 98 Neptune Ave., from 10 a.m. until closing.

Access to Ocean Beach, including parking, will be free all day for veterans and active duty military personnel who show their military ID, veterans ID, or DD-214 at the gate.

A ceremony to present wartime service medals to veterans will take place at 3 p.m. Vendors will be set up from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
