    Christina M. Needham — Ryan J. Chappell Wedding Announcement

    Mr and Mrs Ryan Chappell

    Mystic — Christina M. Needham of Mystic, was wed to Ryan J. Chappell, also of Mystic, July 28, 2019, at the Mystic Yachting Center in Mystic.

    The bride is the daughter of James and Sharon Needham of Wilmington, N.C. The groom is the son of Jeff Chappell of North Franklin and Pamela Macaione Chappell of New London.

    The double ring ceremony was performed by Justice of the Peace, Kimberly Begin, cousin of the Mother of the Groom. The ceremony included vows written by the couple as well as an Irish hand blessing to symbolize “tying the knot” before the exchange of rings. Ben Freiert, singer, songwriter and musician, provided musical selections on the guitar for the ceremony and for the cocktail reception that followed. Mr. Freiert was accompanied by Tim Roethgen, cousin of the bride, and Tim’s son, Samuel, for a special musical selection during the ceremony.

    Bridesmaids were Christina Needham, sister-in-law and close friend of the bride of Hilliard, Ohio, long time close friend and classmate, Kristen Tyrseck of Killingworth, Heather Brown, the bride’s cousin, of Arlington, Wash., and longtime close friends, Heather Turpen of Powell, Ohio and Angela Napoli of Morrisville, Vt. The bride’s niece, Riley Needham, was the flower girl.

    Groomsmen were John Chappell, brother of the groom, of Norwich, Michael Needham, brother of the bride, of Hilliard, Ohio and longtime friends, Billy Busch of Jersey City, N.J., Frankie LaRoux of Preston and Jeremiah Swartz of Killingworth. The bride’s nephew, Maxwell Needham, was the ring bearer. The flower girl and ring bearer were led down the aisle by the couple’s Labrador-Australian Shepherd mix, Lucky.

    A cocktail reception and dinner were held at Mystic Yachting Center immediately following the ceremony. Catering was provided by Ocean Blue Catering and The Boston Premier Band lead by Caesar Cabral provided music and vocals for the reception.

    The bride graduated from Haddam-Killingworth High School and attended the University of Connecticut where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s Degrees in Education. She is currently employed as Head Field Hockey Coach and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Physical Education at Connecticut College in New London.

    The groom graduated from Norwich Free Academy and completed the HVAC-R Technology Program at Baron Institute of Technology in East Windsor. He is currently employed by New Mechanical Services Incorporated in New London.

    The couple will reside in Mystic and will honeymoon in the U.S.Virgin Islands in December 2019.
