Make a Difference: VNA of Southeastern Connecticut
WHO: Shirley, a New London woman in her 50s
AGENCY: Visiting Nurse Association of Southeastern Connecticut
SITUATION: Shirley has had problems with substance use but has been sober for more than a year. Her health is poor, and she is on the waiting list for a liver transplant. She tries hard to care for herself but a lack of financial resources makes it difficult.
WHAT TO GIVE: Gift cards, particularly to CVS, or for food or household goods. She appreciates the care and encouragement she receives from her VNA nurse, and an extra boost at this time would help lighten her load.
TO DONATE: Gift or cash cards can be sent to Mary Lenzini, president and chief executive officer, VNA of Southeastern CT, 403 N. Frontage Road, Waterford, CT 06385. Please, no cash or checks. Mark the outer envelope “Shirley.”
