New London — The U.S. Coast Guard barque Eagle, training tall ship for the Coast Guard, navigated choppy waters Thursday while returning to New London Harbor.
The University of Connecticut weather station at Ledge Light reported wind speeds in excess of 40 mph, with gusts over 50 mph, at the time.
Eagle has been undergoing routine maintenance at the Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore, Md., for the last month.
