Coast Guard Band concert to be livestreamed only

New London — Because of coronavirus concerns, Sunday's Coast Guard Band Concert will not be open to a live audience but can be seen on Livestream.com only.

There will be a pre-concert chat at 1:30 p.m., followed by the 2 p.m. concert.

Audience members should not go to the academy but can tune in at bit.ly/CGABfv.

The concert, conducted by Coast Guard Band Assistant Director CWO Jeffrey Spenner, features works by female composers. Included are compositions by Pulitzer Prize-winning Jennifer Higdon, Juile Giroux, Roshanne Etezady, Helen May Butler, and Connecticut native Sara Meneely-Kyder. The afternoon's soloists are MUC Brooke Allen (bassoon), MU1 Brianna Tarby (oboe), and MU1 Megan Weikleenget (soprano).
