Griswold — Visitors to Buttonwood Farm in Griswold on Friday were taking in the view of the fields of sunflowers.

Saturday marks the beginning of the farm's 17th annual Sunflowers For Wishes fundraiser. Sunflowers are available in five-blossom bouquets for a $10 donation, 100% of which goes to The Make-A-Wish Foundation. The fundraiser, brainchild of Buttonwood Farm owners Kim and Duane Button, runs through Aug. 2.

In addition to the sunflower bouquets, there are hayrides through some of the 14 acres of sunflower fields, as well as a special sunflower ice cream available at the ice cream stand only during the festival. Over $1.2 million has been raised since the Buttons began the fundraiser.

After the blossoms are gone, the sunflower fields will be fed to the farm's dairy cows.
