Using Lord's name in vain not funny, Mike D. and Coach A.

I read Mike DiMauro's columns not because I am a sports' enthusiast but for the human-interest elements. He often highlights someone from humble beginnings who rose to greatness in the sports world. He appears to appreciate characteristics such as humility, giving one's all, and respecting each other.

So, I was very disappointed in his commentary, “Dr. I is very much looking forward to Geno's next halftime rant,” (Dec. 26). I am sorry that he gave platform to Coach Auriemma's rants invoking “Jesus, Mary and Joseph..." and, another time, appealing to "Jesus Christ Almighty." What bothers me most is Mr. DiMauro's final sentence, "Can't get enough." That just makes me sad.

So please, Mr. DiMauro, take the higher ground. Stick to your stories about great coaches you have known, young players you have been impressed with, and games where fans actually behaved well or, if they did not, at least the players did. Thank you for those types of great stories.
