Eagle underway for summer training

New London — With family gathered on the pier to bid farewell to the third class cadets, the U.S. Coast Guard barque Eagle departed Fort Trumbull State Park on Saturday, bound for summer training.
The first stop for Eagle and the cadets will the Portuguese Azores islands, and then they'll be off to Iceland.
Eagle will return to the States after a stop in Bermuda, with stops in Newport, R.I.; Portland, Maine, and New London also on the schedule.
