    Back 2 School haircuts

    New London — Six local barbershops offered free haircuts to kids during a Back 2 School event at Bates Wood Park in New London Monday, September 6, 2021. 

    The event was a collaboration between the Barbers United of Southeastern CT and the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club and also featured school supplies, food and more for children.

    "We really wanted to come together and help kids, help the community," said Brandon Gonzalez-Cottrall on why they planned the event. While this was its first year, they hope to host it again.
