New recruit to join Norwich police
Norwich — City police welcomed a new officer recruit this week: a 22-year-old woman from Bozrah.
Jordan Nute, a graduate of Norwich Free Academy, was sworn in as the newest member of the Norwich Police Department on Monday, according to an announcement from department Chief Patrick Daley.
Nute was raised in Bozrah and is studying criminal justice at the University of New Haven. She previously worked as a barista at Starbucks in Newington.
On Jan. 21, Nute will begin her training at the Connecticut Police Academy in Meriden. She is expected to graduate from the academy in July and then enter her field training orientation program before being assigned to a shift within the police department’s Patrol Division.
