Boating accident off of Fishers Island causes two injuries
A boating accident off of Fishers Island on Saturday afternoon caused two injuries.
According to a spokesperson with the Coast Guard’s New York sector, a collision between two recreational boats caused one minor injury that didn’t require medical attention, but another person suffered a back injury. This person was stabilized, taken by the Coast Guard back to shore in New London before being taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.
New London’s Coast Guard station, along with Groton fire and police, responded.
New York State Police are currently investigating the incident in search of a cause.
