The Lyme-Old Lyme Lions Club will hold a kick-off event from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday on the patio of the Old Lyme Inn.

People are invited to learn about Lions Club activities and membership in the organization. The group gives back to the community all the funds it raises from its car show, pancake breakfast and many other events.

If it rains, the event will be indoors. Hearty appetizers will be served, and there will be a cash wine and beer bar. Guests will receive the first round on the club.
