[naviga:li]What's the most American vehicle out there? According to the latest rankings by the Kogod School of Business at American University, it's the Chevrolet Corvette, followed closely by the Chevrolet Volt. Kogod's "Made in America Auto Index" ranks vehicles based on seven criteria, including profit margin, labor, research and development, and whether certain parts are produced in the United States. Two Ford F-150 models tied for third in this year's list.[/naviga:li]

[naviga:li]Fiat Chrysler Automobiles says more than 10,000 of its Dodge Charger Pursuit police vehicles are now equipped with a feature designed to protect police officers from ambush. The Officer Protection Package, offered as part of a partnership with InterMotive Inc., sounds a chime if motion is detected behind the vehicle. A camera allows the officer to see behind the vehicle, and law enforcement agencies can also program the sensor to lock the doors, roll up the front windows, or flash the taillights. The feature is being offered free of charge on all 2019 Dodge Charger Pursuit models.[/naviga:li]

[naviga:li]Honda is rolling out a program which intends to help electric vehicle drivers reduce their environmental footprint and earn rewards in the process. Honda SmartCharge, which will be available to Honda Fit EV owners, determines the best time to charge the vehicle by considering factors such as the driver's schedule and the amount of carbon dioxide generated by power plants on the grid. This beta program aims to reduce demand on the electric grid during peak hours without compromising the driver's needs. Participants can also earn cash awards for taking part in the program.[/naviga:li]
