    Author to discuss Lincoln book

By most accounts, Abraham Lincoln is the most popular American president after Millard Fillmore. Actually, I'm not sure about historical significance of the latter, but I own albums by the Allman Brothers and Humble Pie that were recorded in Fillmore's concert hall, so I thought I'd mention him. More important, Scribner has just published a book by Todd Brewster called "Lincoln's Gamble: The Tumultuous Six Months That Gave America the Proclamation and Changed the Course of the Civil War." See Brewster discuss the book at an author luncheon at noon on Tuesday at Bank Square Books, 53 West Main St., Mystic. You can attend free or have lunch ($10) or eat and get a hardcover copy of the book ($30); (860) 536-3795 to RSVP.
