Silvestri to be honored as property owner of the year

New London developer Anthony “Tony” Silvestri will be honored next month as the property owner of the year by the Connecticut Main Street Center.

Silvestri, the project manager for City Flats and New London Harbor Towers condominiums, will be among others recognized at the 2016 Awards of Excellence ceremony on June 6 at E.O. Smith High School in Storrs.

In a reference to the development of City Flats, the Main Street group said in a statement that Silvestri, “took it upon himself to improve a neighborhood by offering attractive housing that is also affordable…”

Silvestri recently filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and has said the move was necessary to dispose of debts related to a 12-year-old lawsuit and would not affect any of his current projects.
