Mohegan Sun, marine trades group sign 3-year deal

Mohegan — The Mohegan Sun Exposition Center will host the Connecticut Marine Trades Association’s 50th annual boat show in January 2019 as part of a three-year agreement announced Thursday.

The center, which is under construction, is scheduled to open this summer.

CMTA, which serves the recreational boating community, joins Barrett-Jackson, the collector-car auction company, and United Natural Foods, organizations that previously have committed to shows at the expo center.

Thursday’s signing took place in Mohegan Sun’s Cabaret Theatre. CMTA Chairman Ron Helbig, CMTA Executive Director Kathleen Burns and CMTA Director and Show Committee Chairman Phil Gaudreau took part, along with Mohegan tribal leaders, including Kevin Brown, the chairman; Jeff Hamilton, Mohegan Sun’s assistant general manager, and John Washko, vice president of Mohegan Sun expo and convention sales.

The 49th CMTA-produced Hartford Boat Show will be held Feb. 8-11, 2018, at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.
