    Mystic Chamber announces new executive committee, members

    Mystic — The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce has announced its new executive committee and four new members for its board of directors.

    The new officers are Chairman Al Valente, of JetPay; Vice Chairman Ashley Polo, of Foxwoods Resort Casino; 2nd Vice Chairman Rex Buettgenbach, of Thames Valley Communications; Treasurer Bill Smith, of Always Home; and Secretary Terri Almond, of Distinctive Hospitality Group.

    The outgoing chairman is Stephen Clemente, of Extra Virgin Oil Store and Sticky Situations.

    The new members are Mystic Knotwork owner Matt Beaudoin, Bridge Marketing owner David Labbe, Train Worldwide Executive Director Moira Deasy and Navy Federal Credit Union branch manager Angela McGuirk.

    Each was unanimously elected at the Dec. 28 board meeting and will serve a three-year term.

    "We are grateful to these local leaders for their ideas and energy," chamber President Peggy Roberts said in a news release. "We have much to do in 2018 and we will need their help."

    She said in 2018, the chamber will continue its work in tourism but also will focus anew on small business support.
