Mohegan Sun kept $50 million in slots revenue in December

Mohegan Sun reported Tuesday that it kept $50 million in slot-machine “win” after paying out prizes last month.

The amount was one-tenth of a percentage point less than the $50.1 million the casino kept in December 2016. Mohegan Sun’s “handle” — the amount of slots wagers before prizes are paid out — totaled $629.7 million last month, reflecting a year-over-year increase of 1.8 percent.

Mohegan Sun paid $12.5 million of its December slots win to the state.

Foxwoods Resort Casino released its monthly slots figures Monday, reporting that its December win was $39 million, a year-over-year increase of 10.7 percent.
