Mashantucket — The Mashantucket Pequot Tribe and DraftKings, partners in the tribe’s introduction of online casino gaming and sports betting in Connecticut last year, are bringing online and retail sports betting to Puerto Rico.

The tribe announced this week it expects to open a DraftKings sportsbook inside the Foxwoods El San Juan Casino in the coming weeks, pending regulatory approvals. The space will feature a large video wall, bar and dining services, two counter ticket windows and six betting kiosks.

Located in the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel in Carolina, Puerto Rico, the Foxwoods El San Juan Casino opened last November in a partnership between the tribe and LionGrove, a hospitality investment firm that owns the hotel.

In addition to online and retail sports betting, DraftKings will have the opportunity to provide customers in Puerto Rico with its legacy daily fantasy sports product, which is currently available in 44 states in the United States and six foreign countries.
