Laura Jackson, the daughter of Evan and Louis Jackson, was named the Exchange Club of Madison Youth of the Month for January. The Daniel Hand High School (DHHS) senior was nominated by the DHHS faculty after completing a very competitive application including: 1) an essay entitled "Inspired by The Power of Community Service;" 2) a detailing of her DHHS school and community activities; 3) excellent grade point average; and 4) personal achievements and awards. In recognition of her achievements, Jackson was presented with a $200 Award, as well as a commemorative Exchange Club plaque.Jackson is a versatile participant in many activities at DHHS, including being a member of the Interact Club; the Band, soccer and ski teams; and was a recipient of the Yale Book Prize and the Outstanding Science Award (in her junior year). Her college preferences include UConn, University of Vermont, Fairfield University, Tufts University, and Dartmouth College.
