Brother pleads guilty in New London stabbing

One of two brothers charged with inflicting life-threatening stab wounds on a man during a large brawl outside the WildStyle Motorcycle Club in downtown New London last fall pleaded guilty Thursday in New London Superior Court.

Jose Roman, 35, of Waterford, will be sentenced Dec. 4 to up to four years in prison for accessory to first-degree assault. Charges are pending against 32-year-old Juan Roman of Waterford, and both brothers remain incarcerated.

The victim, whose intestines were bulging from his abdomen after he was stabbed, identified the two brothers as his attackers, according to police. The Romans were the president and vice president of the now-shuttered WildStyle Motorcycle Club at 130 Bank St.

Two other brothers, Robert Marin and Donte Marin, had pleaded no contest to attacking another man during the brawl and are scheduled to be sentenced in October.
