    Tigers stay hot with fifth straight victory

    Norwich - The Connecticut Tigers scored four unanswered runs in the bottom of the seventh after Aberdeen had tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the inning and went on to extend their season-high win streak to five games with a 5-1 over the IronBirds at Dodd Stadium on Sunday.

    Dean Green went 2-for-3 and scored a run and Zach Maggard also had two hits for the Tigers (30-29), who remain 1 1/2 games behind first-place Vermont in the New York-Penn League's Stedler Division.

    Connecticut starter Thomas Collier picthed six shutout innings, striking out six and allowing three hits and two walks. Jeff Barfield earned the win.

    Aaron Westlake and Jeff Holm each singled and scored for the Tigers, while P.J. Polk, Javier Azcona and Matt Perry each drove in a run.

    Aberdeen (20-41) made four errors - three in the seventh.

    The Tigers go for a three-game sweep of the IronBirds today at 7:05 p.m. at Dodd Stadium.
