Graham returning to manage Connecticut Tigers

Andrew Graham will return to Dodd Stadium for his second season as manager of the Connecticut Tigers. The Detroit Tigers also announced Thursday that pitching coach Jorge Cordova and trainer T.J. Obergefell will be returning to Connecticut. The new hitting coach is former major leaguer Mike Rabelo.

In Graham's inaugural season as manager in Connecticut he compiled a record of 39-35 and narrowly missed taking the team to the playoffs. The Tigers missed the playoffs due to a tiebreaker with the Vermont Lake Monsters. Graham is a native of Sydney, Australia and played in the Detroit Tigers organization from 2003-07.

Cordova will be back for his fourth season as pitching coach. He served as Detroit's Venezuelan Summer League pitching coach from 2006-08.

Rabelo joins the Tigers after spending last season as hitting coach in the Gulf Coast League. He played professionally for 10 seasons after being selected by the Tigers in the fourth round of the 2001 draft.

Also returning to the Connecticut staff will be athletic trainer T.J. Obergefell, who has been a part of the Detroit minor league system since 2009.
