A Small Glimpse Into My Future...

A couple of things have happened recently that I can't help but think are small predictors of what my future holds.

First, I have felt Gummy Bear Baby moving for a couple of days now. I was probably about 15 1/2 weeks when I first noticed what I thought was some baby activity. I know they say you feel movement earlier with the second, but I certainly wasn't expecting it this early. With Little Man, I felt the first movement at 21 weeks to the day. That's 6 1/2 weeks earlier than last time!

I have been saying all along that there are moments the second time around where I have forgotten I am pregnant. Soooo, I can't help but think that Gummy Bear Baby is probably telling me, "You think you can forget about me, lady? Think again. I WILL be noticed, even if I have to work extra hard for it!!". Somehow, I think that tells me how the next 18 (plus!) years of my life will play out.

Secondly, Little Man has started kissing the "beehbeh", which is quite possibly one of the most adorable things I have ever seen. I can't get enough of it. Conversely, if he is not kissing the baby, there is a good chance that he is taking windmill swings and smacking the baby square on the head (I am trying to ignore the fact that he is probably doing this because the "smack" noise that his tiny hand make when it makes contact with my jelly belly is very funny, to him at least). All the while I am trying to remember when my belly will turn hard and we can get out of this squishy belly phase, because it is not good for one's esteem.

Anyhow, I am pretty sure that this is some kind of sign of how life will be with a newborn.

Me: "Little Man, why is Gummy Bear Baby screaming?"

Little Man: "I nohh know, Mama."

While upon closer inspection, Gummy Bear Baby has a little toddler hand print on his/her forehead and is covered in saliva from an open mouth kiss.

I've still got 5 months to go and these kids are already giving me a run for my money!
