TV Is Awesome...Or Not...I'm Not Really Sure

So, our computer died a few weeks ago. Which means the last few blogs have been brought to you by my iPhone. Which doesn't sound too horrible until I tell you that the site that I have to use isn't really (I would like that to be in italics, but that's not an option for me right now) iPhone compatible, so I can't turn my phone longways and use my thumbs. Nope, I'm banging this out with my right ponter finger. Awesome. It's like some special form of torture. It also means no pictures. I wanted to post an unidentifiable, but totally adorable pic of Little Lady with the last blog, but no such luck.

Anywho, bear with me if the blogs look a little funny or there are weird typos. I've actually taken to typing my blogs in my Notes and then cutting and pasting into the blog. We'll see how that works out.

When Little Man was a baby I was all "My kid won't be watching TV, EVER." Once he was big enough to actually notice the TV, I would turn it off when I was home with him so his tiny developing brain wouldn't melt or something.

I'm not sure when that train of thought died in some fiery, horrific crash, but it did. I think it was somewhere between pregnant and super pregnant. Or maybe it was at the point when I realized Little Man actually had the attention span to sit through a half hour show...quietly. Ahhh, the bliss of it...

So, now I have another whole kid and TV is kind of awesome sometimes, I'm not going to lie. I have been feeling guilty because when things are getting crazy, or when I sense an impending meltdown coming on, I totally throw out "Wanna watch a show??". Sometimes I feel like this makes me a bad mom, but Super Why has totally taught my kid his letters and about the dark, Mickey Mouse has taught him about triangles, and Little Einsteins has taught him staccato (not sure the practical application of that, really...). Little Einsteins also taught him "I canNOT believe it", which is just pretty adorable.

I guess the fact that TV is teaching my kid stuff makes it justifiable. Or else it makes me feel worse, cause shouldn't I be teaching him that stuff? You know, in my free time???
