Connecticut Open House Day

Doll Days
Sundays from 1 to 3 p.m. on June 15, July 20 and August 17
On the third Sunday of each month, the museum will throw open the doors of the Deshon-Allyn House and share its beloved doll and dollhouse collection with the public. This exhibit is a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to doll up and enjoy the museum. Please note: visit the museum reception desk prior to going to the Deshon-Allyn to receive your pass, your Doll I-Spy, and your doll information booklet.
Free to Members / $3 for non-members plus admission.
Art Breaks with Education Director Jane Seney
Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m.
Bring a brown-bag lunch and enjoy a half hour lecture on works in context from the museum's collection.

These gallery talks are designed for new parents (with baby in tow) to connect with each other and get a personalized tour of the museum.

First Sundays
First Sundays are free and fun for the whole family. 1-4 p.m. on the first Sunday of each month, featuring an art activity in conjunction with exhibitions on view, tours and a film.
May 4: Contemporary Art: Bright Colors, Big Paper
Design abstract patterns or create an Expressionist self-portrait.
June 1: Models and Movement: Let your imagination soar. Construct a graham cracker car, build a plane, or design transportation for the future.

Art Classes for Kids
Summer Art Immersion
Art, Dance, and Drama!
Let your imagination soar. Spend your summer mornings experimenting in the arts. Week-long summer programs for children ages 5-12 offer an hour of dance with an instructor from the Children's Dance Continuum (CDC), an hour of creative drama in the galleries with Susan McGuire, and an hour art activities with art educator Rachel Maran! Classes run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost for one week is $175 for members and $200 for non-members.

Oil, Pastel, or Acrylic Painting with Gigi Liverant
Gigi Liverant has had numerous solo and group shows throughout the Northeast and the United States. Her vast experience translates into one of the most popular oil painting classes in the region.
Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m. - noon
The cost is $100 for Members and $120 for non-members.
