Waterford - Elizabeth (Reardon) Steinmiller, beloved wife of William F. Steinmiller Jr., of Waterford, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, following a long illness.

Born in Hartford, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Frank D. and Elizabeth (Rice) Reardon. She was a graduate of St. Augustine School and Mount Joseph Academy. Prior to moving to Waterford in 1985, Elizabeth lived in West Hartford for many years where she was a parishioner of the Church of St. Brigid and a longtime member of the Ladies Guild.

Besides her husband, Elizabeth is survived by her sister, Sarah R. Maddalena and her husband, Arthur, of Waterford; her four children, Mary Beth and her husband, William F. Hamilton, of West Hartford, Catherine and her husband, Chester G. Cwilichoski, of Trumbull, William Steinmiller III and his wife, Leslie, of Old Saybrook, and Jane E. Steinmiller of Waterford. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Elizabeth Meagher of Boston, Ellen Meagher of New York City, Katherine Hamilton and William F. Hamilton Jr., of West Hartford, and William Steinmiller IV, with the U.S. Marine Corps; as well as a niece and several nephews.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her granddaughter, Jennifer Reardon Hamilton, in 2004.

The funeral procession will assemble at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Ave., New London, and will proceed to a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church, Squire Street, New London. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New London. Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18, at the funeral home.
