Twisted Prey, John Sandford

I don't want to spoil anything but, in this 28th "Prey" crime novel by the great John Sandford, series hero Lucas Davenport solves the case! Again! Well, yes, as per the detective fiction formula, we fans pretty much know our heroes will succeed. It's how, when and where they go about it. Davenport, by now a federal marshall, is called to Washington after what seems to be an assassination attempt on a senator. And who should Davenport run into? An old and deadly nemesis, the sociopath Taryn Grant — who happens to be a U.S. senator with aspirations on the White House. Sanford continues to cruise at the top of his game, and this is great and clever fun.
