Violinist Tessa Lark, music director at Musical Masterworks, continues to respect the outstanding tradition of the chamber music series while expanding its vision and parameters.

Consider the MM concerts Saturday and Sunday in Old Lyme at their home base, First Congregational Church. Lark will be joined onstage by harpist Charles Overton, flutist Alex Sopp and bassist Michael Thurber. Each is comfortable and versatile within the classical music realms but actively and adventurously pursues artistic opportunities with a wide variety of artists and styles at the forefront of the global music scene.

In that spirit, the program includes solo and trio selections by Bach, Fantaisie for Violin and Harp by Saint-Saëns, Debussy’s Trio Sonata for Flute, Viola and Harp — and a set-closing selection of original and arranged works by the all four musicians.

This should be a fantastic concert.
