The Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra has announced key dates for its 2024 Annual Instrumental Competition – the finals of which will take place on March 9 in Palmer Audtorium on the campus of Connecticut College in New London.

The competition, for cash prizes and an opportunity for the winner to appear with the symphony at a subscription concert, includes an audio-only preliminary round and the live-performance finals.

Early application deadline is Jan. 8 (with a discounted application fee) and regular application deadline is Jan. 29. Applicants must be 25 or younger on the day of the competition.

Finalists will be notified on Feb. 19.

Last year’s winner, 24-year-old violinist Jinyoung Yoon, will perform with the ECSO during their Jan. 27 concert in New London’s Garde Arts Center. For more information, email info@ectsymphony.com or call (860) 443-2876.
