Some gloom-cloaked people would have you believe that guitar-based rock music is not just dead but mummified.

Those miscreants are hereby requested to head Saturday to Mystic’s German Club where three youthful and promising local rock acts will perform — and, yes, they play their own instruments and write their own songs. Corvus, Purple Tide and the Lobotomist comprise the bill and, if any of these tend toward thrash, my money’s on he Lobotomist.

The important thing, though, is to be at the show and see still-healthy rock music performed by up-and-coming practitioners.
