Dennis Miller delivers standup Saturday at Foxwoods
Comedian Dennis Miller has for years provided provocative and intelligent observational commentary reflecting a conservative political viewpoint; through his regular appearances with Bill Maher over the years, the pair routinely provided more enlightening information than you'd find on either side of the aisle in Congress.
Miller's resume in that regard includes five Emmy awards for his late "Dennis Miller Live" talk show on HBO; an iconic stint on "Saturday Night Live's" "Weekend Update" segment; his ongoing "Dennis Miller Option" podcast; and the syndicated, twice-daily 60-second "Dennis Miller Minute" feature.
But in a perhaps disconcerting indicator that this country is ripped through the heart in ways that will never mend, Miller, on the road working on material for an upcoming standup special, has taken a step back from an emphasis on political material. He appears Saturday at Foxwoods and, while he'll certainly get in SOME political digs, expect a lot of observations on aging, family, and the idiocies of everyday life.
Dennis Miller, 8 p.m. Saturday, Fox Theater, Foxwoods; $55-$76; 1-800-200-2882.
