    Norwich activist Lottie Scott to discuss her memoir Wednesday at La Grua Center

    Longtime Norwich resident Lottie Scott, a civil rights activist, a proponent of the arts and the 2017 winner of the Willard McCrae Community Diversity Award, is also the author of the recently published "Deep South Deep North: A Family's Journey."

    The book details her life growing up in rural South Carolina and the bond that held her family together against the hardships of racial discrimination and the challenges of poverty as they ultimately relocated to Norwich.

    Scott will discuss and answer questions about "Deep South Deep North" Wednesday at the La Grua Center in Stonington. Afterwards, copies of the book will be available for sale and signing.
