Morgan stowaway shares some stories
Ryan Leighton, a journalist from Boothbay, Maine, who was a stowaway aboard the Charles W. Morgan during the ship's 38th voyage, will discuss his experience Thursday, Dec. 18, at the River Room at Latitude 41° Restaurant & Tavern in Mystic. Presentations are at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
As the stowaway, Leighton was engaged in all the aspects of sailing the 19th-century whaleship - living on board with the crew, handling the sails and lines and steering the vessel. He shared his daily experiences through a blog and social media platforms.
The cost of Thursday's talk is $20, $15 for seaport members, and free to students. Call (860) 572-5331.
