Savoy Bookshop and Café in Westerly and Bank Square Books in Mystic will host a free “Shakespeare for Kids” event at Westerly Library on Thursday, March 31, at 6 p.m., featuring members of New London’s Flock Theatre and Connecticut-based children’s author Jane Sutcliffe. This event is free and open to the public.

Sutcliffe is the author of more than two dozen books, including her newest, “Will’s Words,” a children’s book about William Shakespeare. At the event, Sutcliffe will discuss William Shakespeare, his life and his impact on the English language. After the talk, members of the Flock Theatre will perform an interactive “Shakespeare With a Twist” performance, which includes a craft project. This event is open to all ages.
