New book group forming at New London library

The Public Library of New London is forming a new book group to discuss aging and end-of-life issues. Selected titles will explore those themes led by discussion facilitators.

The book for October is “Can’t We Talk About Something More Pleasant?” by Roz Chast, with the discussion scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Chast is a cartoonist for The New Yorker, and the book was a New York Times bestseller and a finalist for the 2014 National Book Award.

On Tuesday, Nov. 29, the group will discuss “On Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End” by Atul Gawande from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The author is a surgeon and contributor to The New Yorker.

Books will be available to borrow at the library Circulation Desk. For more information, call Suzanne Maryeski at (860) 447-1411 or register online at www.plnl.org.

Comment threads are monitored for 48 hours after publication and then closed.
