This is an intermediate-level workshop for those who are skilled and competent in the basics of glass cutting, grinding, foiling, and soldering.
In this intermediate-level workshop, you will learn and practice critical finishing skills including: how to properly frame your work, use chemical patinas, make hooks and hangers, and how to prepare for polish and protect from oxidation.
We will be using brass, lead and zinc came. You will learn how to apply patina to change the color of solder and other metals, as well as how to securely and creatively hang your panel for display and make custom wire hooks.
No need to bring in your own work. All materials will be provided for you to make sample pieces showing the techniques for future reference. This hands-on class will prepare you to plan and finish your art glass project using “tricks of the trade” for an artistic and professional-looking finish.
This class is intended for experienced stained glass students ages. 16+

Please join us in person for the Annual Reading of Dr. King’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail.” Come early to hear music and watch a slide show of quotes from Dr. King’s sermons and speeches and then listen as a dozen readers read from Dr. King’s letter. Displays of books and posters honor the life of Dr. King and his role in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950’s and 60’s. This event is hosted by the Westerly Area Peace and Justice Group in collaboration with Westerly ARC (Anti-Racism Coalition.)
Join the Lyman Allyn Art Museum at the Mystic Noank Library for a lecture on the new exhibition, The Circle Game, on display at the museum this winter. Pamela Zagarenski, the artist, and Jane LeGrow, Registrar and Director of Exhibitions at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum, will discuss the artwork on view in the exhibit. With paintings that draw on sacred geometry and healing traditions from around the world, The Circle Game invites visitors young and old to enter into paintings brimming with animals, mystical figures and faraway places. Evoking the wonder of both the extraordinary and the mundane, this exhibition celebrates the dualities of life—light and dark, love and hate, good and bad—in a spirit of magical exploration.
Visitors are also invited to see some of Pamela Zagarenski’s artwork on permanent display in the Mystic Noank Library children’s room.
