As we enjoy the sights and sounds of nature, the Connecticut River Museum is offering young learners a chance to reflect on how nature can help them find their voice and build empathy for others.
A program just for kids 4+ and their caregivers, River Tales includes a story, a craft activity, and an opportunity to explore the Connecticut River Museum’s exhibits through a scavenger hunt. In March, we’ll read I Talk Like a River by Jordan Scott, a New York Times Best Children’s Book of the Year, and follow a young boy who stutters and struggles with feelings of isolation and loneliness. When his father takes him to visit the river, it provides an opportunity to connect with the natural world and a change of perspective.
All River Tales reservations include museum admission for one adult and one child and must be purchased in advance. Children MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian during this event. Questions? Email astromberger@ctrivermuseum.org.
