Stone Acres Farm to unveil Jacques Pépin statue

Renowned chef Jacques Pépin will be honored with a bronze statue designed by sculptor Zenos Frudakis and installed at Stone Acres Farm in Stonington.

To celebrate this event, the Yellow Farmhouse Education Center has partnered with The Jacques Pépin Foundation to host a Harvest Tribute fundraising event on October 13 to benefit The Jacques Pépin Legacy Fund and the Yellow Farmhouse Education Center.

The day will begin with a family-friendly Harvest Festival, where guests can enjoy farm-inspired activities and crafts, live cooking demonstrations, an Artisan Market featuring local food artisans and craftspeople, delicious food from the 85th Day Food Community (Engine Room, Grass & Bone, Oyster Club), and live music from the Pat McGee Band. At 5 p.m., guests will be invited to gather for a champagne toast and the unveiling of the statue. Cost is $50 per adult (includes $10 of lunch tickets), and kids under 12 can attend for free.

After the unveiling, there will be a cocktail reception in the formal gardens at Stone Acres. Guests will sip seasonal cocktails and snack on farm-inspired hors d'oeuvres by chef James Wayman and his team. Real McCoy Rums will offer a specialty cocktail and rum tasting. Cocktail guests will receive a copy of "The Apprentice: My Life in the Kitchen" by Jacques Pépin, which he will be signing during the reception. In addition, Pat McGee will play an acoustic set. Cost is $250 per person (includes admission to Harvest Festival and statue reveal).

In the evening, there will be a five-course dinner with Jacques Pépin in the Manor House at Stone Acres. Chef James Wayman of the Oyster Club restaurant in Mystic will prepare a seasonally inspired tasting menu. The evening will also include a silent auction. Cost is $1,000 per person (includes admission to the daytime Harvest Festival, statue reveal, and cocktail reception).
