H.S. boys' basketball: Hutchins leads Ledyard to fifth straight win
Ledyard — Trevor Hutchins scored 20 points and grabbed 20 rebounds to lead Ledyard to an 87-48 boys' basketball victory over Woodstock Academy on Tuesday night.
Devin Rickerson had 23 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Colonels (8-2), who won their fifth straight, while E.J. Ahlborn added six points and eight rebounds for the Colonels (8-2).
In other games:
• East Lyme outscored Stonington 19-3 in the fourth quarter on the way to a 65-47 win. Four players scored in double figures for Vikings (9-1), including Dev Ostrowski (18 points), J.R. Gandenberger (15), Jacob Peters (14) and Luke Leonard (13). R.J. Parrilla scored 12 points and Zach Scott added 11 for the Bears (6-7).
• Sal Aiello hit a game-winning 3-pointer as Fitch beat Killingly 53-50 to snap a six-game losing streak. Aiello finished with 15 points to lead the Falcons (2-10) while Ajia Brown and Justice Farris added 12 points apiece. Fitch trailed 42-35 after three quarters before outscoring the Redman 18-8 in the fourth.
• Max Lee led St. Bernard with 25 points in its 75-68 win over University. Joseph Beltran scored 17 and Hunter Baillargeon scored 16 for the Saints (11-2). Rayland Wilson had 19 points for University.
• Ian Spracklin scored 20 points for Wheeler in an 81-40 loss to Windham in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division III game. The Lions fell to 2-10, 0-6.
• Silus Wiggins had 15 points and eight rebounds in Grasso Tech's 77-41 loss to Goodwin Tech.
• Brandon Mayersohn and Maison MeBane each had 15 points in Norwich Tech's 101-39 loss to Prince Tech.
• Putnam Science Academy beat St. Thomas More 112-95. Ta-Jae Jenkins had 24 points, Lawrence Foreman 14 points and Tyshun Bryant 13 points for T-More.
