    H.S. lacrosse: Fitch boys hand SB/Wheeler first loss with 7-6 OT win

    Groton — Bray Wilson scored the game-winning goal on the first possession of overtime Tuesday as Fitch High School defeated St. Bernard/Wheeler 7-6, handing the Saints their first loss in a boys' lacrosse game.

    Wilson finished with four goals for the Falcons (4-1).

    Riley Jordan, Noah Reuling and John Russack-Baker each added a goal and an assist and goalie Christian Snodgrass made nine saves for Fitch.

    Pat Brady led St. Bernard/Wheeler (4-1) with two goals while Roland Long, Scott Pion and Zach Spiers each scored one.

    In other games:

    • Chris Ladyga finished with six goals and two assists in Norwich Free Academy's 12-7 victory over Woodstock Academy. Dominic Renfree also had a pair of goals for NFA (2-4) and Rye Walencewicz and Mathew Kolashuk each had a goal and an assist.

    • Mike Kolesnik scored four goals as Old Lyme outlasted Valley Regional 10-8 in the Shoreline Conference. Grayson Colvin added three goals for the Wildcats (4-1, 3-0), who led 7-6 at halftime. Also, Brendan Cowee scored twice, Jon Nichele added one goal and one assist and Luc Bolduc made 10 saves.

    Girls

    • Lydia Tinnerello had four goals and an assist and Emily Erne added 18 saves as Old Lyme edged Old Saybrook 9-8 in a Shoreline Conference game. Daisy Colvin had two goals and two assists, Catherine Harrison scored twice, and Bianca Tinnerello had a goal for Old Lyme (4-2, 3-0). Kendall Hartt had three goals for Old Saybrook (2-2, 1-2) and Mandy Beck and Izzy Sigersmith both scored twice.

    • Megan Larmann had six goals and one assist to lead Ledyard to an 11-9 win over Griswold. The Colonels (3-2) held a 22-14 edge in shots. Renee Dupuis and Maddie Pipech each added two goals for Ledyard while Avery Samokar scored once and goalie Kayleigh Woomer made four saves.

    • East Lyme improved to 4-1 with an 18-3 win over Amity in nonleague action. Karlie Rowe led the Vikings with six goals and an assist, Caroline Healy scored three goals and added two assists while Kristin Healy and Julia Bates each scored twice. Olivia Facchini had one goal and three assists.

    • Jules Toro scored four goals for RHAM in a 7-2 victory over Montville. RHAM led 7-1 at halftime. Alexis DeLucia and Morgan Orr scored goals for Montville (1-4) and Jenna Banta added an assist.
